![]() The latest revenue report from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, covering September results, showed Mohegan fourth in slots revenue among the state’s 16 casinos with $15.7 million earned. Located near Wilkes-Barre, the casino has more than 1,700 slot machines and nearly 60 live table games adjacent to a harness track with live racing currently taking place three days a week. Mohegan Pennsylvania, which was the state’s first casino to open in 2006, is nearing completion of a $10 million renovation of its 237-room hotel. “To also create synergy across the Mohegan portfolio, especially as we continue to grow in-line with the Mohegan Tribe’s vision, destinations like Mohegan Pennsylvania have also rolled out a rebrand.” “Many of our partners, stakeholders, and valued guests commonly refer to our brand as ‘Mohegan,’ so the new title is a strategic decision that truly encapsulates our capabilities and values,” Mohegan CEO Ray Pineault said in the announcement. The change was announced Monday by Mohegan, the Connecticut-based tribal gaming entity that itself shortened its name earlier this year from Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment. The racetrack-casino formerly known as Mohegan Sun Pocono and even Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs before that is now going with a pithier name: Mohegan Pennsylvania.
